when the protector becomes the predator: who is thinking about girls?

In what world can a man who has allegedly sexually abused several young girls entrusted to his care be allowed to walk freely in the same society, without a thorough and proper investigation into these serious allegations?

These are young girls who were supposed to be protected, nurtured, and guided into adulthood. They were placed in the care of people they should have been able to trust. If these allegations are true, where is the justice for the victims? Where is the accountability?

Awareness about sexual abuse has been raised in our schools, churches, homes, and even on our radio stations. We constantly encourage our girls to speak up, report inappropriate behaviour, and seek help when something goes wrong. Yet, what message are we sending when serious allegations like these appear to go unaddressed?

Are we teaching our girls that their voices do not matter? That speaking up is pointless? That powerful people can escape accountability while victims are left to carry the trauma?

LET US PUT POLITICS ASIDE. THIS IS A MATTER OF MORALITY, JUSTICE, AND THE SAFETY OF OUR CHILDREN.

What about the traumatised girls? Who will help them heal? Who will restore their trust in the very people and institutions meant to protect them?

And to the families of these girls, what steps are being taken to ensure that their voices are heard and that they receive the support and justice they deserve? Are we allowing such serious allegations to be handled quietly behind closed doors while the victims suffer in silence?

To our mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, and every concerned citizen, imagine if one of these girls were your daughter, your sister, your niece, or someone you loved. Would you remain silent? Would you be satisfied if no proper investigation were conducted?

No child should have to suffer in silence. No survivor should be made to feel that their pain does not matter. And no one, regardless of their position, influence, or political connections, should be above the law.

We are calling for a thorough, impartial, and transparent investigation into these allegations, with the safety, dignity, privacy, and well-being of the girls placed at the centre of every decision. The victims deserve protection, appropriate support, and a fair process that takes their experiences seriously.

We want a better Ghana.
We want a Ghana where our children are safe.
We want a Ghana where the girl child is protected, heard, and believed enough to have her allegations taken seriously and properly investigated.
We want a Ghana where justice is not determined by power, influence, or political affiliation.

ENOUGH OF THE SILENCE. ENOUGH OF THE EXCUSES. OUR CHILDREN DESERVE BETTER!

Let us raise our voices for those who may be too afraid to speak. Let us demand accountability through the proper channels and ensure that no child is left unprotected.

Protecting our young girls today is protecting our future!
