Napoli in talks with Chelsea over Marc Guiu transfer

Napoli is pushing to sign Chelsea forward Marc Guiu, with negotiations between the two clubs entering an important stage ahead of the transfer deadline.

Recent reports indicate that the Italian club have reached an agreement with Guiu over personal terms, with the Spanish striker said to be willing to sign a contract that would keep him at Napoli until 2031.

The main issue now is reaching an agreement with Chelsea over the transfer fee. Chelsea is understood to value the 20-year-old at around €25 million and is seeking a permanent transfer. Earlier reports suggested the London club could also demand a percentage of any future sale.

Napoli had initially been reluctant to meet Chelsea’s valuation, with reports putting their offer below the Blues’ asking price. However, negotiations have continued, with both sides looking for a compromise before the transfer window closes.

Guiu joined Chelsea from Barcelona in 2024 after developing through the Spanish club’s academy. Chelsea initially handed him a five-year contract with an option for another year.

The young striker made 16 appearances for Chelsea during his first season and scored six goals in their successful UEFA Conference League campaign.

He also became the second-youngest Chelsea player to score a hat-trick when he netted three times against Shamrock Rovers.

Despite showing promise, Guiu has struggled to secure regular playing time in Chelsea’s crowded attacking department. His situation has led to growing interest from clubs looking to give him a bigger role.

Napoli see the Spanish forward as a potential addition to their attack and are reportedly working to complete the deal before the transfer deadline.
