The TnA Stadium in Tarkwa will host the opening fixture of Ghana’s 2026/27 domestic football season when Medeama SC faces Nations FC in the Champion of Champions on Sunday, August 30, 2026.
The match will bring together the winners of Ghana’s two major domestic competitions, setting up an early contest for silverware ahead of the new campaign.
Medeama SC, who were crowned champions of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League, will meet Nations FC, winners of the 2026 MTN FA Cup. Both teams will be hoping to start the new season on a winning note by adding another trophy to their collections.
The Champion of Champions is traditionally played between the winners of the Ghana Premier League and the MTN FA Cup.
The fixture serves as a curtain-raiser for the domestic football season and gives the two champions an opportunity to measure their strength before competitive league action begins.
The 2026/27 Ghana Premier League is scheduled to officially begin over the weekend of September 4 to 7, meaning the Champion of Champions will come just days before league action gets underway.
