Alice Kusi extended the lead eight minutes later, finding the back of the net in the 24th minute to put the visitors firmly in charge.

Ghana continued to apply pressure and were rewarded with a third goal in first-half stoppage time when Benedicte Simon unleashed a stunning long-range effort to make it 3-0.

The three-goal cushion reflected the Black Queens’ dominance in the opening half and left Mauritius with a difficult task heading into the second period.

Mauritius showed signs of improvement after the break and attempted to reduce the deficit, but the Ghanaian side remained organised defensively and prevented their opponents from finding a breakthrough.

The Black Queens maintained their advantage until the final whistle, securing an important away victory that strengthens their chances of progressing to the next round of the African qualifiers.
