The Functional Executive Committee (FEC) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has set the filing fee for aspirants seeking the party’s National Chairman position at GH¢100,000 ahead of its forthcoming national executive elections.
The approved fee schedule outlines charges for 14 national executive positions, with the National Chairman race carrying the highest filing fee of GH¢100,000.
Aspirants seeking membership of the National Executive Committee (NEC), meanwhile, will pay GH¢10,000, the lowest amount on the list.
Candidates vying for the positions of General Secretary and National Vice Chairman are required to pay GH¢80,000 each, while those contesting for National Organiser must pay GH¢70,000.
The filing fee for the Deputy General Secretary position stands at GH¢60,000. The same amount is required of aspirants contesting for National Vice Chairman under the approved fee structure.
For the National Communication Officer position, aspirants will pay GH¢50,000. Candidates seeking to become National Youth Organiser or National Zongo Caucus Coordinator will each be charged GH¢40,000.
The committee has fixed the filing fee for Deputy National Organiser, Deputy National Communication Officer and Deputy National Youth Organiser at GH¢30,000 each.
Aspirants for National Women’s Organiser and Deputy National Women’s Organiser are also required to pay GH¢30,000, although special provisions apply to female candidates with disabilities.
Beyond the filing fees, every aspirant must pay an additional GH¢2,000 to acquire nomination forms.
The party has also announced a 50 per cent reduction in filing fees for female aspirants and persons with disabilities (PWDs) contesting the various positions.
However, the concession does not extend to female candidates seeking the National Women’s Organiser and Deputy National Women’s Organiser positions.
According to the approved arrangements, all payments must be made online through the party’s designated platform, forms.ghanandc.com.
The fee structure forms part of the NDC’s preparations for its internal elections, which will determine the national officers responsible for overseeing the party’s administration and organisational affairs.
