The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has asked all its members across the country to take part in the nationwide general cleaning exercise announced by the government.
The exercise is scheduled for Friday, July 10, and Saturday, July 11, 2026.
In a statement released on Thursday, July 9, 2026, the party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, said the decision shows the NPP’s commitment to keeping communities clean, encouraging civic responsibility, and supporting national development.
The party also pointed out that its constituency elections will be held on Saturday, July 11.
It has therefore encouraged members to join the cleaning exercise after they have cast their votes.
According to the statement, voting in the constituency elections will be done on a walk in basis, giving members the opportunity to vote first before taking part in the nationwide sanitation exercise.
