A defeated contestant in the Ashanti Regional Chairmanship race, Henry Kwabena Kokofu, has assured the winning candidate of his support for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to ensure Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia becomes president of Ghana.
In a statement shared via social media, Henry Kwabena Kokofu, who polled 269 in the chairmanship race, said his commitment continues to be with the NPP.
His post read, “Dr. Henry Kwabena Kokofu says “THANK YOU” to everyone who supported his dream. He remains committed to serving NPP for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to become President”.
Henry Kwabena Kokofu joined the race to become Ashanti Regional Chairman very late, but his campaign to become Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party was fierce.
However, he polled 269 of the votes cast on the day, while Odeneho Kwaku Appiah polled 663 to win the keenly contested position.
