The previous Managing Director of Ghana Water Limited, Clifford Abdallah Braimah, has lost the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Savannah Regional Chairmanship after narrowly being defeated by his opponent, Alhaji Iddrisu Sulemana, in the regional elections held on August 15.
Braimah received 88 votes in the closely contested election but was outdone by Alhaji Iddrisu Sulemana, who garnered 92 votes to claim victory.
The narrow margin of four votes underscores the competitive nature of the race, with both candidates receiving considerable backing from delegates during the regional election.
Alhaji Iddrisu Sulemana’s win signifies that he will assume leadership of the NPP in the Savannah Region and will be tasked with guiding the party’s activities and organizational initiatives in the area.
In other outcomes from the Savannah regional elections, Aboagye Kwame was elected as Vice Chairman.
Seidu Ayuba also triumphed in the Secretary race, having received 91 votes.
