ECG announces 4-day power outage in parts of Accra East

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) will commence a four-day scheduled maintenance operation today, Monday, August 10, in various parts of the Accra East Region.

This operation, which is scheduled to continue until Thursday, August 13, 2026, is expected to cause temporary power outages in several communities from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm each day.

ECG has stated that this operation is part of its efforts to carry out planned maintenance and enhance the reliability of the electricity supply in the affected regions.

On Monday, August 10, residents in Teiman, Oyarifa, Mr Smith, portions of Ogbodjo, Tsmasiwaa Hospital, Ability, and nearby areas are expected to experience a power outage from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The maintenance operation will proceed on Tuesday, August 11, impacting Ashiyie, sections of Dodowa, Tobinco, Oasis Estate, Manet Junction, and adjacent communities during the same hours.

On Wednesday, August 12, the areas affected will include parts of Labone, Agbogba Zongo, Adenta SDA, Tot-to-teen School, Top Herbal Clinic, sections of Madina, Libya Quarters, and surrounding regions.

The final phase of the operation on Thursday, August 13, will impact Achimota School and its vicinity from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

ECG has advised customers in the impacted communities to be aware of the schedule and to make necessary arrangements in anticipation of the temporary outages.

The company has also expressed its apologies for any inconvenience this operation may cause, emphasising that the maintenance work is aimed at enhancing electricity service delivery.
