He stressed the need for greater attention to be given to these industries, citing their potential to create jobs and support economic growth.

According to him, improving access to vocational training and certification, affordable credit and solar energy could help businesses expand their operations and improve productivity.

He also highlighted the need for a simplified tax system to ease the burden on small businesses and make it easier for operators to comply with their tax obligations.

Artisans and small-scale operators play important roles in sectors such as construction, fashion and personal care, making access to finance, skills development and affordable energy critical to their growth.
