Member of Parliament for Akim Swedru, Kennedy Osei Nyarko, has contended that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia merits a chance to lead Ghana, similar to the opportunity granted to President John Dramani Mahama by the electorate.
In a Facebook post, the legislator expressed that Ghanaians should adhere to the same principle of allowing political leaders to play a role in the nation’s progress.
“If Ghanaians could give President Mahama, who happens to be a former president of this country, another chance to lead this country once again, then Dr. Alhaji Mahmoud Bawumia equally deserves same chance and the opportunity to lead this country,” he wrote.
Kennedy Osei Nyarko pointed out that Bawumia has not yet been elected president by the citizens of Ghana.
He drew a comparison with Mahama, who had previously held the presidency before making a political return and securing another term.
“Dr. Alhaji Mahmoud Bawumia is yet to be voted for by the Ghanaian people as the president of this country unlike President Mahama who graciously served this country as a President before his recent comeback,” the MP stated.
The Akim Swedru MP further underscored the significance of providing individuals with the opportunity to aid in Ghana’s development.
“Every Ghanaian deserves an equal chance to contribute their quota in building this country,” he said.
