At least seven people are feared dead and several others injured following a collision between an Accra-bound VVIP bus and a Toyota Sienna at Saka, near Zebilla in the Bawku West District of the Upper East Region.
The accident occurred around 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2026, causing shock in the community and disrupting traffic on the busy Bolgatanga–Bawku highway.
According to eyewitnesses, the crash was severe, leaving both vehicles badly damaged and trapping some passengers inside the wreckage.
Residents and other road users joined rescue teams to free the victims and transport them to the Zebilla Government Hospital.
While authorities have yet to officially confirm the number of casualties, sources at the scene said seven people are feared to have died.
Several injured passengers are receiving treatment at the hospital.
The cause of the crash remains unknown, and investigations are underway.
Authorities are also working to identify the victims and inform their families.
