He was initially attended to at a nearby health facility before being referred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment. Medical personnel are said to be working to stabilise his condition.

According to the victim’s mother, Madam Grace Adwoa Agyeiwaa, her son had, in recent times, complained of hearing persistent voices urging him to harm himself.

She noted that these disturbing experiences appeared to intensify in the days leading up to the incident, although the family had not anticipated such a drastic outcome.

A close friend of the victim, Mr. Collins Akumfi Ameyaw, described the situation as both shocking and heartbreaking.

He stated that Mr. Assum had not previously shown any visible signs of mental distress or behavioral changes that would suggest he was struggling with such severe internal challenges.

Authorities are yet to officially comment on the case, but it is expected that further investigations will be conducted to better understand the circumstances surrounding the incident.
