The Ghana Police Service, through its Anti-Armed Robbery Surveillance Unit, has arrested three persons suspected of involvement in a robbery in Parambo Sewaba, a suburb of Yeji in the Pru East District of the Bono East Region.

The incident transpired on June 1, 2025, when three armed assailants reportedly attacked market women travelling from Yeji, stealing their possessions, which included cash and mobile phones.

In an interview monitored by The Ghana Report with Adom News, Chief Superintendent Asiamah Emmanuel, the Divisional Police Commander for Yeji, indicated that the suspects had been under police surveillance for an extended period.

He mentioned that they were allegedly connected to a series of robberies aimed at traders along the Yeji–Kumasi highway and on routes leading from Yeji to Prang, Parambo, and Abromase.

The suspects, named Mohammed Ahmadu (30), Osmanu Abubakar (35), and Sumaila Mohammed (25), have been brought before the Atabubu Circuit Court and placed in police custody for three weeks.

During a search conducted at Mohammed Ahmadu’s residence, law enforcement officials discovered various offensive weapons, including six machetes, a motorbike, a tricycle, and three identification cards with different names.

Authorities have indicated that the details of the motorbike and tricycle have been sent to the Techiman DVLA for verification to aid ongoing investigations and legal proceedings.

Chief Superintendent Asiamah Emmanuel took this opportunity to warn criminals operating in the vicinity, emphasising that law enforcement will not condone such activities.
