Highlife singer Amandzeba says good music remains relevant regardless of when it was created.
The veteran musician revealed that some of the songs he is preparing to release with younger artists were written many years ago.
According to him, music has a lasting quality that allows old compositions to find new audiences.
“Music doesn’t die,” he said on Channel One TV.
Amandzeba disclosed that one of the songs set for release was written between two and three decades ago.
“I can tell you that a song that I wrote about 20, 30 years ago is now coming out with a very beautiful collaboration,” he stated.
The musician said this is one reason he is excited about his upcoming projects with younger acts, including Stonebwoy and Epixode.
He also rejected the idea that some music should be classified as old-fashioned.
“We don’t have any particular stamp that you can stick on music and say this is old-time music,” he said.
To support his point, Amandzeba referenced his young daughter, who enjoys his songs despite belonging to a different generation.
“Music is music,” he concluded.
