Ghanaian rapper Guru has shared how his hit song “Lapaz Toyota” changed the course of his music career.

In an interview with Nana Romeo, Guru explained that before the release of the song, he was struggling to stay relevant in the music industry. He mentioned that earlier tracks like “Kasiebo” and “Democracy” did not achieve the success he had hoped for, making things difficult for him.

According to him, the challenges and lack of recognition at the time nearly pushed him to give up on music completely.

However, everything changed when he released “Lapaz Toyota.” The song quickly became popular and brought him into the spotlight.

“Lapaz Toyota changed everything,” he said. “It took me to the big stage, helped me build my brand, and gave me my first record deal.”

Guru added that the success of the song opened many doors for him in the industry and helped him gain wider recognition among top artistes.

He also noted that the breakthrough improved his life, as he was able to support his family and close friends after years of struggle.
