Highlife musician Kwabena Kwabena has raised concerns over the quality of sachet water after noticing a significant change in the color of water stored in his home.
In a video, the musician said he had resorted to buying sachet water for cooking because he was concerned about the quality of the tap water available to him.
He, however, said he became alarmed after some of the sachet water he had kept for a few weeks appeared discolored.
Holding up two sachets from the same bag, Kwabena Kwabena pointed out the difference in their appearance and questioned what could have caused the change.
“This is serious,” he said, while calling on the Ghana Standards Authority and the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) to to investigate the quality of sachet water being sold to the public..
He expressed concern that continued consumption or use of contaminated water for cooking could have consequences that consumers may not immediately recognize.
