I ignored TGMA invitation – Nana Ama McBrown

Actress and television host, Nana Ama McBrown, has disclosed that she deliberately ignored an invitation to attend the 2026 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs).

Nana Ama McBrown explained that the invitation was sent through a third party known as Kobby, but she chose not to respond.

“For me it was Kobby who called me. I haven’t even replied him. I didn’t answer him,” she said.

Her remarks follow conversations about the absence of some top celebrities on the red carpet at this year’s TGMAs.

According to Nana Ama McBrown, attending award events can be expensive, particularly for celebrities who are not nominated or performing.

She argued that organisers should not expect public figures to spend their own money just to appear at the event.

“TGMA can’t invite me to a red carpet while I don’t have a song. They’re aware it’s expensive to show up,” she stated.
