DopeNation to donate proceeds of European tour to Accra flood victims

Music duo DopeNation has announced plans to donate GH¢1,000 each to a number of victims affected by Monday’s devastating floods in parts of Accra.

In a statement shared on their social media pages on Wednesday, July 1, the twin brothers said the donation would be funded from the proceeds of their ongoing Europe tour as a way of supporting families who suffered losses during the disaster.

According to the duo, although the gesture cannot replace lives lost or restore damaged properties, they hope it will help ease the burden on some of the affected families.

“The floods in our homes resulting in the loss of life and valuable property isn’t just here to break us but to remind us of how strong we should be as one people with love.

“We intend to give GH¢1,000 each to a number of victims and families affected in some parts of Accra from our European tour proceeds. This won’t solve the problem, nor will it bring back the lives and property but will at least ease some tension amongst us.”

The announcement has been welcomed by many social media users, who have praised the award-winning musicians for extending a helping hand to victims of one of the country’s latest flood disasters.
