Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappé has declined to comment on his team’s tactical adjustments, insisting his primary responsibility remains scoring goals and helping the Spanish giants win matches.
The French striker was asked about the tactical changes made by the coaching staff, including the introduction of a new midfield combination and Federico Valverde’s deployment at right-back.
However, Mbappé directed the questions towards the coach, stressing that tactical decisions were not his responsibility.
“I think you’re asking the wrong person; this question should be for the coach, not me,” he said.
“For me, nothing changes; I’m here to score goals, help the team, and for us to win. The rest, ask the coach about it 15 minutes from now.”
Mbappé also dismissed suggestions that his side’s latest victory was specifically intended to build confidence ahead of Sunday’s El Clásico against Barcelona.
According to the forward, Real Madrid were focused solely on securing victory in their latest match rather than looking ahead to the highly anticipated encounter.
“No, those are two completely different things. We were only thinking of winning tonight’s game, we weren’t thinking about Sunday at all. Now we can think about El Clásico,” he added.
Real Madrid will now turn their attention to their showdown with Barcelona, with Mbappé expected to play a key role as the defending Spanish giants prepare for one of the biggest fixtures in the football calendar.
