Swedru All Blacks Communications Director Nathaniel Obeng has argued that removing Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku from office would not, on its own, resolve the challenges confronting Ghana football.
According to Obeng, the difficulties facing the sport are broader than the leadership of one individual and should instead be addressed as systemic problems within the football administration.
Speaking on the state of Ghana football, Obeng said replacing Okraku without addressing the underlying issues would not produce the desired change.
“It might be that it is not an individual problem; it’s a systematic problem. I believe getting Kurt Okraku out of the system won’t solve the problem,” he said.
His comments come amid ongoing discussions about the direction of Ghana football and calls from some sections of the football community for changes in the administration of the game.
Obeng’s position, however, is that the focus should extend beyond individuals and examine the structures and systems governing the sport.
He believes meaningful improvement will require a broader approach capable of identifying and addressing the root causes of the challenges facing football in the country.
