John Boadu has been elected National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) after securing 2,888 votes at the party’s National Delegates Conference.

Mr Boadu will lead a new team of national executives elected by delegates to oversee the party’s administration and organisational affairs.
Justin Frimpong Kodua retained his position as General Secretary, securing 4,486 votes.

Daniel Titus Glover was elected National Organiser with 2,964 votes, while Alfred Kwajo Thompson won the National Treasurer position with 2,243 votes.
New Vice Chairpersons elected
Three National Vice Chairpersons were elected from a field of 13 candidates.
Kojo Fosu Bwedu was elected First Vice Chairman, Henry Nana Boakye Second Vice Chairman, and Nana Akomea Third Vice Chairman.

Dennis Edward Miracles Aboagye was elected National Communications Director unopposed.

In the special wing elections, Abanga Yakubu Fuseni emerged as National Youth Organiser, while Hawa Koomson was elected National Women’s Organiser.
Mohammed Ali Suraj also won the National Nasara Organiser position with 372 votes, defeating Salim Mansuru Bamba, who polled 311 votes, and Awal Mohammed, who secured 106 votes.
The election brings together a new national executive team tasked with leading the NPP’s organisational and political affairs as the party prepares for the next phase of its activities under the leadership of the flagbearer, Dr. Bawumia.
Mr Boadu’s election as National Chairman is particularly notable because he and Mr Kodua previously contested the General Secretary position at the NPP’s 2022 National Delegates Conference, where Mr Kodua emerged victorious.
The new leadership is expected to take charge of the party’s national administration, strengthen its structures and oversee its preparations for the 2028 general election.
