New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Vice-Chairperson hopeful Henry Nana Boakye, popularly known as Nana B, says his relatively young age should not be mistaken for a lack of experience.
Nana B, who is among 13 candidates contesting the position, said he has served the NPP continuously for 26 years, beginning at age 19 as a polling agent during the 2000 general election.
“In fact, I may be the youngest, but I have served the NPP continuously, uninterrupted, for 26 years,” he said on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem.
He said his experience spans the party’s polling station, electoral area, constituency, regional and national structures.
Nana B also recalled helping establish the Tertiary Students’ Confederacy Network (TESCON) at the then School of Mines, now the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT), where he became its founding president.
He later served as TESCON president at KNUST while studying law.
At the national level, Nana B said he served on the NPP’s National Steering Committee, worked on national youth programmes and later served as a national communications officer.
“I have served the party at all levels. If we’re looking for someone who knows the rise and fall of the party, its victories and losses, I am the one,” he said.
