I housed Shatta Wale for free before mainstream fame – Joint 77

Former SM Militant Joint 77 has opened up about his complicated history with Shatta Wale, claiming he once gave the dancehall king a place to stay for nearly a year and covered all the household bills.

Speaking in an interview, Joint 77 said his relationship with Shatta Wale was not simply a case of one person benefiting from the other, insisting that he also supported the musician at a time when they were close.

The revelation came when he was asked whether he believed he had never benefited from his former boss.

Joint 77 responded that Shatta Wale had benefited more from him, as far as their friendship is in question.

“People say I should be grateful to Shatta because he helped me. Shatta benefited more from me than I did. Even with the car people reference he bought for me, he came back with police to retrieve it. I never told anyone this.”

According to Joint 77, the original vehicle Shatta Wale bought him was faulty, which he returned and got a new one from a car dealer at Shatta’s request.

However, the vehicle later became another point of tension in their relationship, particularly after their relationship had deteriorated.

He also hinted that there were other details surrounding his relationship with Shatta Wale that he had chosen not to disclose.
