Moroccan forward Soufiane Rahimi has made history at Al Ain after becoming the club’s all-time leading scorer in Asian club competitions.
Rahimi scored during Al Ain’s impressive 4-0 victory over Al Nassr in the AFC Champions League Elite, taking his total number of goals for the club in Asian competitions to 19.
The goal moved him past Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan and former Al Ain star Omar Abdulrahman, who both ended their careers with 18 goals for the UAE club in Asian competitions.
Rahimi’s achievement marks another important milestone in his career and places him at the top of one of Al Ain’s notable scoring records.
Gyan remains one of the most celebrated players in Al Ain’s history. The former Ghana captain enjoyed a successful spell with the club, scoring important goals and helping them compete at the highest level in Asian football.
Abdulrahman, meanwhile, was another key figure for Al Ain and played a major role in the club’s success during his time in the UAE.
Rahimi has now moved ahead of both players after continuing his strong scoring form in continental competition.
