Social media reports claim that actor Emmanuel Nii Adom Quaye, popularly known as Strika, has been sentenced to seven years in prison over the alleged vandalism and theft of parts of the Kwashieman pedestrian bridge.
A video shared on YouTube by OGTV says the actor was sentenced after appearing before an Accra court.
However, the reported sentence has not been independently confirmed by the court or any relevant authority.
Strika, who gained prominence for his role in the film Beasts of No Nation, was allegedly caught by residents of Kwashieman in August cutting metal parts from the pedestrian bridge.
The items were reportedly intended for sale as scrap.
