The Northern Regional Police Command has arrested Abdulai Mohammed Saani, a 27-year-old individual, in relation to a controversial TikTok video regarding the death of the late Mion Lana, Mahamaru Abdulai.
In response to the video’s circulation, the Regional Police Intelligence Department (PID), in conjunction with the Regional Criminal Investigations Department (CID), initiated intelligence-driven inquiries to pinpoint the individual responsible for its creation and distribution.
The suspect was located and tracked to Kumbungu, where he was arrested on 20th August 2026 and taken to the Northern Regional Police Headquarters in Tamale to support the investigation.
Meanwhile, investigations are ongoing to clarify the circumstances surrounding the video’s production and dissemination, as well as to determine the involvement of any other individuals associated with the case.
