An Okada rider has lost his life, while his pillion rider is in critical condition after a cargo truck allegedly ran over their motorcycle at Budumburam.
The incident, which occurred on the main highway leading to Winneba, was reportedly caused by the driver of the cargo truck with registration number GN-4199-22 attempting to manoeuvre around a parked vehicle, resulting in a head-on collision with the motorcycle coming from the opposite direction.
The rider, who sustained a severe head injury, reportedly died at the scene, while the passenger suffered serious injuries and was taken to a hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment.
Eyewitnesses to the event reportedly arrested the driver of the cargo truck and handed him over to the police.
The driver has since been arrested to assist police investigations into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
