Madrid to submit official offer for Manchester City’s Rodri

Real Madrid is reportedly preparing to submit an official offer to Manchester City for Spain international Rodri as the Spanish giants continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.

According to reports from Spain, Real Madrid is increasingly confident of securing the midfielder’s signature once they have completed the signing of highly rated youngster Yan Diomandé.

The club is said to view Rodri as a key addition to reinforce its midfield for the years ahead.

The report claims that negotiations are expected to gather pace in the coming days, with Real Madrid optimistic that an agreement can be reached.

The proposed transfer fee is believed to be between €50 million and €60 million, although no official bid has yet been submitted to Manchester City.

Rodri has been one of City’s most influential players since joining the Premier League champions from Atlético Madrid in 2019.

Widely regarded as one of the best defensive midfielders in world football, the Spanish international has played a crucial role in City’s domestic and European successes, including their historic treble-winning campaign.

Despite his importance to Enzo Maresca’s side, the report suggests Manchester City would not stand in the player’s way if he makes it clear that he wants to return to Spain.

Club officials are said to have enormous respect for Rodri and would be willing to discuss a transfer should the request come directly from the player.

Real Madrid have been looking to strengthen their midfield following the departures of several experienced players in recent seasons. The club believes Rodri’s leadership, composure on the ball and tactical intelligence would make him an ideal fit at the Santiago Bernabéu.
