3 dead, 11 injured in Ajumako Kokoben road crash

Three people have lost their lives, and eleven others have been injured following a head-on collision between two vehicles at Ajumako Kokoben in the Central Region.

The incident took place on Monday, July 20, 2026, involving a Toyota Isuzu pickup truck with the registration number GE 1361-25 and a Toyota Voxy with the registration CN 478-26.

Initial investigations conducted by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) suggest that the Toyota Voxy was reportedly overtaking another vehicle at a high speed when poor visibility caused by dust led to a collision with the oncoming Toyota Isuzu pickup.

Firefighters who arrived at the scene of the accident managed to rescue four victims who were trapped inside one of the vehicles.

Seven additional victims had already been rescued by bystanders prior to the emergency team’s arrival.

The injured individuals were subsequently handed over to a medical team for treatment.

The Ghana Police Service has initiated investigations to ascertain the complete circumstances surrounding the crash.
