Miracles Aboagye breaks silence following release by EOCO

Dennis Miracles Aboagye, an aide to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has stated that his recent detention by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has only reinforced his determination to run for the position of NPP National Communications Director.

In a statement released on Wednesday, July 15, following his release, Miracles expressed his gratitude to all NPP supporters for their unwavering support during his detention, asserting that he remains steadfast and prepared to serve the party.

“I am out. I am unbroken. And I am more ready than ever. Thank you, patriots!”

Aboagye noted that he was apprehended and detained by EOCO just one day after he publicly declared his intention to contest for the NPP National Communications Director role.

He claimed that misleading information was disseminated regarding the circumstances of his arrest but insisted that the truth would ultimately come to light.

“Four days ago, just one day after I declared my intention to serve our great party as National Communications Director, I was picked up and detained by EOCO. A false narrative was put out about my arrest, but Ghanaians are not fools, and neither are the good people of the New Patriotic Party. The facts and the truth will prevail!!”

In response to reports linking him to an alleged GH¢55 million issue, Aboagye denied ever being questioned by EOCO regarding such an amount.

“For the records: There was no discussion of any GHc55million cedis with me by EOCO. None!!!”

He also expressed his appreciation to NPP members and supporters who publicly rallied in solidarity with him during his time in custody, stating that their actions provided him with strength.

“To every party faithful who hit the streets, who raised their voices, who refused to be silent, I saw you. I heard you. From my detention, word of your protests reached me, and it kept my spirit standing tall. You did not just defend Dennis Miracles Aboagye; you defended the principle that no voice can be intimidated into silence.

Aboagye maintained that the detention had not deterred him and pledged to continue his campaign for the party’s communications portfolio.

“Let me be clear: if the intention was to break me, it has failed. If the intention was to scare me, it has failed spectacularly. I will lead New Patriotic Party’s Communications Directorate to command the narrative, and no cell, no false story, no intimidation will change that.”

He further stated that this experience had only strengthened his resolve.
