José Mourinho has spoken passionately about his return to Real Madrid, describing his new role as a “mission” and promising to build a culture of hard work, responsibility and ambition at the Spanish giants.
The Portuguese manager, famously known as “The Special One,” said he is fully committed to helping the club and its players achieve greater success.
His comments come as he begins another chapter with one of the world’s biggest football clubs.
“There are no words for this… as this is like a mission,” Mourinho said.
“I’m not worried as I’m here to help everyone to be better players. I’m here to build a culture of work, responsibility and ambition.”
Mourinho also expressed his deep affection for Real Madrid, making it clear that his connection with the club remains as strong as ever.
“I’m in love with Real Madrid. I’m ready for the mission,” he said before ending his message with the club’s famous slogan, “Hala Madrid y Nada Más.”
The 63-year-old previously managed Real Madrid between 2010 and 2013, a period during which he helped restore the club’s competitiveness against Pep Guardiola’s dominant Barcelona side.
During his first spell, Mourinho won La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the Supercopa de España, including the memorable 2011-12 league title when Real Madrid finished with a then-record 100 points and scored 121 goals.
Widely regarded as one of football’s greatest managers, Mourinho has enjoyed success across Europe.
He has won league titles in Portugal, England, Italy and Spain, as well as two UEFA Champions League trophies with Porto and Inter Milan.
He has also lifted the UEFA Europa League, UEFA Conference League and numerous domestic cups throughout his career.
Mourinho’s arrival marks the beginning of a new era at the Santiago Bernabéu, with expectations high as the experienced coach looks to once again leave his mark on one of football’s most successful clubs.
