The Ga Traditional Council has mandated the closure of all shops, markets, and commercial establishments in Accra from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon from today, Friday, July 10, and Saturday, July 11, in observance of the National General Cleaning Days.
In a statement issued by the Registrar for Ga Mantse King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, the Council stated, “all shops, markets, and commercial entities within Accra remain closed between 7:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon on both days.”
The Council indicated that this initiative is being conducted in collaboration with the government, the Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council, and the Accra Metropolitan Assembly to enhance sanitation in the capital.
It further noted that the closure is compulsory, with the exception of emergency services, essential medical units, and authorized sanitation personnel.
“Acts of civic duty and discipline are required from all citizens as we come together to cleanse our land,” the statement said.
