Ghana’s Black Stars have stepped up preparations for their crucial Group L encounter against England, with players showing determination and intensity during training at Bryant University in Rhode Island.
The team trained on Saturday at the university’s Smithfield campus as they continued their build-up to Tuesday’s highly anticipated clash.
The session was marked by high energy levels, sharp focus and a strong desire from the players to impress the technical team.
Head coach Carlos Queiroz and his backroom staff put the squad through a series of demanding exercises designed to improve fitness, teamwork and tactical awareness.
The training programme included high-intensity drills, possession games, tactical shape work and set-piece routines as the team fine-tuned its plans for the match.
Players were seen pushing each other to maintain high standards throughout the session. Competition for places in the starting lineup was evident, with every player eager to secure a role in the important fixture against the Three Lions.
The goalkeepers also underwent additional training after the main session, working on shot-stopping, positioning and distribution under the guidance of the goalkeeping coaches.
The Black Stars are fully aware of the challenge that awaits them against England, one of the tournament favourites.
As a result, the technical team has focused on both the physical and tactical aspects of preparation, ensuring the players are ready to cope with England’s attacking threat while also creating opportunities of their own.
Confidence within the camp remains high as the players continue to work hard ahead of the match. The atmosphere at training has been positive, with players showing commitment and unity as they prepare for one of their biggest tests in the competition.
The Black Stars are scheduled to hold two more training sessions on Sunday and Monday before taking on England on Tuesday. With expectations growing and the stakes high, Ghana will be hoping to deliver a strong performance and boost their chances of progressing from Group L.
