The Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, has been remanded for two weeks as investigations continue into alleged misinformation and offensive public comments.
His latest arrest took place on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, just weeks after he was granted bail in connection with the same case.
Abronye DC was first arrested on Monday, April 13, over allegations of offensive conduct, false publication, and comments said to have caused fear and panic among the public.
He was later released on bail while investigations continued.
Authorities have now rearrested the outspoken politician as security agencies deepen investigations into the allegations against him.
While officials are yet to provide full details about the latest arrest, sources say the move is part of ongoing efforts to tackle the spread of alleged false information and inflammatory public remarks that could threaten public peace.
So far, authorities have not confirmed whether additional charges will be filed.
