The Ghana Scholarships Authority has declared the commencement of applications for its Local Tertiary Scholarship Scheme for the academic year 2026/2027.

This scheme is designed to assist academically talented yet financially disadvantaged Ghanaian students who have gained admission to accredited tertiary institutions within the nation.

As stated by the Authority in a release signed by Director-General Alex Kwaku Asafo-Agyei, issued on Monday, April 20, the application period began on Monday, April 20, 2026, and will conclude on Wednesday, May 20, 2026.

It has been emphasised that late applications will not be considered.

Prospective applicants are required to submit their applications online via the official scholarship portal at [www.apply.scholarships.gov.gh](http://www.apply.scholarships.gov.gh).

Applicants must complete the application form and upload all necessary supporting documents as part of the application process.

The Authority also mentioned that following the submission period, shortlisted candidates will be required to take an aptitude test and participate in a selection interview as part of the evaluation process.

Applicants are encouraged to ensure that all information provided during the application process is accurate and complete to prevent disqualification.

For more inquiries, the public may reach out to the Ghana Scholarships Authority via email at [Apply@scholarships.gov.gh](mailto: Apply@scholarships.gov.gh) or by calling the hotline at 0302907051 and 0302907058.
