A 19-year-old girl, Emmanuella Asante, has been remanded into police custody in connection with the death of her 33-year-old boyfriend, Enoch Abrokwa, following an alleged stabbing incident at Ofankor Barrier in Accra.
The Tesano Divisional Police Command is investigating the incident, which reportedly occurred on Friday, October 9, 2026, during a disagreement between the couple at the deceased’s business premises.
According to a police statement, preliminary investigations suggest that the confrontation escalated, with Asante allegedly stabbing Abrokwa in the chest with a piece of broken glass.
The victim was initially rushed to a hospital at Taifa-Burkina before being referred to the Ridge Hospital, where he underwent surgery for a deep wound that affected his intestines.
He, however, died on October 14 while receiving treatment.
The police said the suspect was arrested on October 10 after being brought to the station by the complainant and three other people. She reportedly admitted to stabbing the deceased and remains in police custody as investigations continue.
Asante has since appeared before a court and been remanded into custody. She is expected to reappear on November 3, 2026.
