Election petition: Tsikata requests more time to argue on re-opening case
The NDC Flagbearer John Dramani Mahama’s legal team have asked the court to give them more time to argue out their case on the re-opening application.
The team led by Tsatsu Tsikata in the on-going election petition made this known in a letter addressed to the Chief Justice Anin Yeboah after Monday’s proceedings.
Mr Tsikata is requesting an opportunity to make further argument on their application to re-open case following a question posed by Justice Marful-Sau at the end of Monday’s hearing.
The question of Justice Marful-Sau suggested that an earlier ruling of the court had noted that the EC chair cannot be compelled to testify.
This, is the question Mr Tsikata seeks to address the court on before it gives its ruling on whether the petitioner can be allowed to re-open its case.
The apex court which had fixed today’s proceedings for 10:00am have been forced to take a decision on the above letter presented by the petitioner before delivering its ruling.
