Residents of Assin Fosu Habitat in the Assin Fosu Municipality of the Central Region are currently in a state of disbelief following the passing of a private school teacher, Emmanuel Kofi Quanoo, who is reported to have taken his own life by hanging.
The reason for the teacher’s untimely death remains unclear.
The deceased, who also served as a taxi driver, was a teacher at Assin Dompim Academy Basic School. He is survived by his wife and two children.
Sources from the school have indicated that Mr Quanoo was absent from his duties for a period and returned to work yesterday.
However, it has been reported that he left the campus around noon after the second break, informing his colleagues that he was going home to seek medical assistance.
Tragically, it was later revealed that he had allegedly hanged himself in his room at Assin Fosu using a skipping rope attached to a crossbar.
In a sorrowful turn of events, his two daughters, aged eight and seven, are reported to have raised the alarm after returning home from school and discovering their father unresponsive.
Meanwhile, the incident has been reported to the police, and investigations are currently underway to ascertain the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
