Former Ghana international Godwin Attram has been appointed as an Assistant Coach of the senior national team, the Black Stars.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) confirmed the appointment as part of changes to the technical structure of the national team.
Attram replaces Desmond Ofei, who will now focus fully on his role as Head Coach of Ghana’s U23 side, the Black Meteors.
The changes come as the Black Stars prepare for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and other international assignments.
Attram brings experience from both his playing and coaching career. The former midfielder played for clubs including PSV Eindhoven and Silkeborg IF during his professional career.
He also previously served as Head Coach of Great Olympics and has worked with various national youth teams.
The GFA said Attram’s experience in player development and his approach to modern football will be valuable to the Black Stars technical team.
His appointment adds another former Ghana international to the national team setup as preparations continue for the upcoming qualifiers.
The former Assistant Coach, Ofei had combined his duties with the Black Stars with responsibilities at Ghana’s youth national teams, including the Black Satellites and Black Meteors.
He will now concentrate exclusively on the U23 team as they prepare for the next Olympic Games qualifiers.
The restructuring is expected to give both coaches clear responsibilities as Ghana prepares for its upcoming international competitions.
Attram will work alongside the Black Stars technical team as the team begins preparations for the 2027 AFCON qualifying campaign.
