GFA rewards five clubs with buses for outstanding performances

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has rewarded five clubs with buses in recognition of their outstanding performances during the 2024/25 football season.

The clubs are Eleven Wonders FC, Swedru Black Stars and Port City FC, as well as Women’s Premier League sides Police Ladies FC and Dreams FC.

GFA President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku presented the keys to the clubs under the Association’s Merit Awards Programme.

The initiative is designed to recognise teams that have performed strongly while also helping them deal with some of the logistical challenges affecting football clubs in Ghana.

The presentation forms part of the GFA’s wider efforts to improve the working conditions of clubs and support the development of domestic football.

Transportation remains a major challenge for many clubs, particularly those competing in national leagues that require regular travel across the country.

The provision of buses is therefore expected to reduce transportation difficulties and help clubs manage their operations more effectively.

The GFA has also taken steps to strengthen its own transport capacity. Through the FIFA Forward Programme, the Association has invested in improving its institutional logistics to support football administration and development.
