Sam George fires five regional heads
The Minister for Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations, Sam George, has sacked five regional managers at the National Communications Authority (NCA) as part of a restructuring initiative.
Sources close to the situation have indicated that this decision is aimed at streamlining operations within the regulatory agency.
The individuals affected, who oversaw regions including Eastern (Koforidua), Western (Takoradi), Volta (Ho), Northern (Tamale), and Upper East (Bolgatanga), were reportedly notified of their dismissal earlier this week.
One of the termination letters, signed by the Chief Director at the Ministry, Alexander Yaw Arphul, stated:
“I write to formally inform you that under the directive of the Minister for Digital Technology, and Innovations, your appointment as Senior Manager of the Koforidua Office of the National Communications Authority has been terminated with immediate effect.”
The dismissed managers have been instructed to transfer their responsibilities to the Ag Director-General of the National Communications Authority.
According to sources, these managers were appointed between 2017 and 2019 during the previous administration, although no official explanation has been provided for their terminations.
