Source The Ghana Report

The Police Hospital has announced plans for a mass burial of approximately 200 unclaimed bodies on February 28, 2025, currently housed in its mortuary.

This initiative, scheduled for the first quarter of 2025, aims to alleviate overcrowding and enhance conditions within the facility’s storage units.

Family members of missing individuals are urged to reach out to the hospital’s pathology department for assistance in identifying and reclaiming any deceased relatives before the deadline of February 28, 2025.

After this date, all unclaimed bodies will be included in the burial.

In addition, other hospitals are taking similar measures.

In the Western Region, the Police Hospital in Bogoso has announced a burial for seven unclaimed bodies that have remained in its mortuary for 20 months.

Tema General Hospital is also moving forward with mass burials due to excessive capacity in its mortuary.

The Police Hospital encourages the community to stay informed and help share this important information.
