Parliament has given its approval to five ministerial nominees put forward by President John Dramani Mahama.
The appointees include Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak as the Minister for the Interior, Ali Adolf G. John as the Minister for the Northern Region, John Kwadwo Gyapong as the Minister for the Oti Region, James Gunu as the Minister for the Volta Region, and Mrs. Rita Akosua Awatey as the Minister for the Eastern Region.
The approvals followed the vetting of the regional ministers on Wednesday, January 23, 2025, and the vetting of Muntaka Mubarak on Friday, January 24, 2025.
The Appointments Committee recommended their approval after thoroughly assessing their qualifications, competencies, and readiness to take on their respective roles.
With this latest development, the total number of ministers approved by Parliament under President Mahama’s administration now stands at 17.
