The ruling New Patriotic Party held its delegates conference to elect new executives for the national level on Saturday, July 16, 2022.
The results of the election saw Stephen Ayensu Ntim win the chairmanship position in a landslide victory with 4,014 votes.
His closest challenger, Stephen Asamoah Boateng, registered 1,010 votes, with Kwabena Abankwa-Yeboah, highly tipped to impress, in a distant third with 294 votes.
The night also provided a major shock, as lawyer Justin Kodua Frimpong unseated incumbent General Secretary, John Boadu by 313 votes.
Kodua polled 2,837 votes against John Boadu’s 2,524 votes, to register a victory.
The incumbent Women’s Organiser of the party, Kate Gyamfua, polled 620 votes to retain her post while her contenders Hajia Sawudata and Ellen Ama Daaku, polled 32 votes and polled 9 votes respectively.
