The Deputy National Organiser and aspiring National Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Chris Lloyd Nii Kwei Asamoah, says he is ready to lead the party’s youth wing and help the NPP regain political power from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2028 general elections.
Mr Lloyd believes his nearly 20 years of experience in party mobilisation, strong grassroots connections and long-standing commitment to the NPP make him the right candidate for the National Youth Organiser position.
He made this known at the NPP headquarters in Accra after submitting his nomination forms to contest the position.
According to him, his years of working with the party’s grassroots have given him the experience and connections needed to reorganise and strengthen the youth wing ahead of the 2028 elections.
“I have been involved in the mobilisation of this party for the past two decades,” Mr. Lloyd said, stressing that his track record gives him a strong understanding of the challenges confronting the party at the grassroots”
He also said he has one of the strongest support bases among the candidates, with his support extending beyond the party’s internal structures to communities and grassroots members.
Mr Lloyd highlighted his work for the party in the Odododiodio Constituency, describing his involvement at the grassroots as an important part of his political journey.
He said he was the second person from the constituency to visit the party headquarters to pick up nomination forms to contest the National Youth Organiser position.
The aspiring National Youth Organiser said his main goal is to rebuild the NPP’s grassroots structures, get more young people involved and prepare the party for victory in the 2028 elections.
His decision to contest adds to the growing competition for the National Youth Organiser position as the NPP prepares to reorganise its structures and regain the confidence of voters ahead of the next general election.
The NPP’s national executive election is scheduled for October 3.
