The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has addressed two distinct vehicle-related incidents in the Greater Accra Region: a bus crash at Fise and a trailer fire at McCarthy Hill.
In a Facebook post dated Monday, August 24, the GNFS reported that its personnel were dispatched to the two incidents on Saturday, August 22, 2026.
At Fise, firefighters from the Amasaman Fire Station were summoned to the scene following a collision between a VIP Yutong bus and a concrete barricade.
The impact caused a diesel leak and damaged the bus’s bumper, side glass, and side door.
Firefighters effectively managed the leak and secured the area. Fortunately, no casualties were reported, and investigations are currently underway to determine the cause of the crash.
At McCarthy Hill, the crew from the Weija Fire Station responded to a fire involving a MAN diesel trailer.
When firefighters arrived, the fire was already active, but they managed to bring it under control by 8:13 am and completely extinguished it by 9:01 am.
The fire caused significant damage to the head section of the trailer, while the trailer section sustained partial damage.
No casualties were reported in this incident.
The GNFS stated that investigations are ongoing to ascertain the circumstances surrounding both incidents.
