A driver and his mate have been found dead under enigmatic circumstances at the Elsie Hotel in Nkawkaw, located in the Kwahu West Municipality of the Eastern Region.
The deceased persons have been identified as Emmanuel Ayisi, 37, a driver, and his mate, Emmanuel Dankyi.
It has been reported that they checked into the hotel after travelling from Donkorkrom.
According to police sources, the two men arrived in Nkawkaw late in the day and opted to spend the night at the hotel before resuming their journey.
They were later found unresponsive in their room.
The incident was reported to the police, who arrived at the scene and initiated investigations.
The bodies have been transported to the Holy Family Hospital Mortuary in Nkawkaw for preservation and autopsy.
In the meantime, the hotel manager and a security guard have been apprehended to assist with the investigations as authorities strive to uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Police have stated that investigations are ongoing to ascertain the precise cause of death.
