Avenor building collapse: Death toll rises to two as rescue efforts continue

Rescue teams have retrieved an additional body from the debris of the collapsed building at Avenor in North Kaneshie, situated in the Greater Accra Region, raising the confirmed death toll to two.

This tragic event, which took place on Sunday, June 7, 2026, has caused significant distress among families and the local community as emergency responders persist in their efforts to locate and rescue individuals who may still be trapped under the rubble.

In addition to the confirmed deaths, two other individuals have been successfully rescued from the collapsed building and were promptly taken to the Ridge Hospital in Accra for urgent medical care.
