The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has suspended the Ayawaso-West-Wuogon Constituency Chairman, Bismark Aborbi-Ayitey, for misconduct.
His suspension is expected to last for a period of six months.
The decision was made by the Greater Accra branch of the NDC, citing violations of specific articles in the Party’s Constitution.
According to Theophilus Tetteh Chaie, the Greater Regional Secretary of the NDC, Mr. Aborbi-Ayitey’s suspension stems from his unauthorized engagement with the media on internal party matters.
This action is regarded as a breach of party protocols and is considered to be against the disciplinary procedures outlined in Article 48(1) of the Party’s Constitution.
The suspension entails that Mr. Aborbi-Ayitey will be ineligible to participate in any NDC-related activities and will be prohibited from holding any official position within the party for the duration of the six-month period.
The disciplinary actions taken against him were carried out in accordance with Article 48(8) and 49(c) of the Party’s Constitution, as amended during the 9th Congress.
To further investigate the matter, Mr. Aborbi-Ayitey has been referred to the Regional Disciplinary Committee, which will undertake a comprehensive examination of the allegations against him.
Below is a letter to that effect.
